Breached & flagged ID databases
Three steps. No onboarding.
You're verifying candidates within 30 seconds of installing. That's the whole point.
Enter the candidate
Type their info manually, upload a resume to auto-fill, or parse straight from Greenhouse or Ashby with one click.
Click Verify
Parallel signal checks run behind the scenes. No queues, no scheduling - you get a live progress readout.
Act on the verdict
Every result ships with a report ID and a recommended next step.
A fake candidate can cost your team dozens of hours before anyone notices - and sometimes a lot more than that.
Interviewer time is expensive
Full-loop interviews with applicants who aren't who they say they are burn engineering and leadership hours that never come back.
Liability compounds downstream
Hires operating under a false identity create regulatory, contractual, and customer-trust exposure - every one of them preventable at the top of funnel.
Data and systems are the real target
Fraudulent candidates increasingly use fake personas to reach source code, customer data, and financial systems. Detecting fake candidates at intake closes that door.
Built to fit your compliance stack.
Verif_Hire is intentionally narrow. It verifies the information a candidate has already provided - nothing more. No background checks, no data retention, no AI-driven decisions.
Zero data retention
Candidate information is checked in real time and discarded the moment the result returns. Nothing is stored, logged, or sold - ever.
Not a background check
Verif_Hire is not a consumer reporting agency. It does not produce consumer reports or surface criminal, credit, or employment history.
FCRA-compliant sources
Verif_Hire uses public and FCRA-compliant data sources only. No sealed records, no consumer reports, nothing that would pull the tool into FCRA scope.
No AI, no black box
Every signal is a deterministic rule against a verifiable source. No models, no automated decision-making, no opaque scoring - every result is explainable.
Information, not decisions
Verif_Hire never makes or recommends a hiring decision. Results are observations about what a candidate supplied - humans decide what to do with them.
Simple pricing. Elite protection.

The short answers.
How does Verif_Hire actually verify a candidate?
It runs multiple independent checks in parallel - identity graph cross-referencing, contact infrastructure analysis, email domain heuristics, and more - and scores how consistent the signals are. You get one distilled verdict with a confidence read.
Is this a background check?
No. Verif_Hire verifies the consistency of the information the candidate provided. It's not a consumer report under the FCRA and isn't a substitute for one. It's a top-of-funnel signal so you don't burn cycles on candidates who aren't who they say they are.
Does Verif_Hire use AI or make decisions about candidates?
No. There's no AI, no machine learning, no scoring model, no predictive algorithms, and no decision-making logic of any kind. Verif_Hire is a signals intelligence tool - it runs deterministic lookups against FCRA-compliant data sources and surfaces factual observations about the contact information a candidate provided. It does not rank, filter, or recommend candidates. Every hiring decision stays with your team.
Do you store candidate data?
No. Resumes parse in your browser. API calls during verification are transient. Once the check completes, there's no candidate record on our servers.
Is Verif_Hire a Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) under the FCRA?
No. Verif_Hire does not assemble or evaluate information bearing on a consumer's credit worthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living (15 U.S.C. § 1681a(d)(1)). Verif_Hire verifies infrastructure-level metadata, not personal information about the candidate. On that basis, Verif_Hire is not a CRA and its output is not a "consumer report."

Overview
Verif_Hire ("we," "our," or "the Service") is a Chrome extension that helps recruiters and hiring teams verify candidate-provided contact information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
Data you provide
When you use Verif_Hire to verify a candidate, you input a candidate's name, phone number, and email address into the extension. You may also upload a candidate's resume (PDF or DOCX) to auto-fill these fields. Resume files are parsed entirely within your browser - they are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on our servers. Only the extracted contact details (name, phone, email) are used to populate the verification form.
Extension storage
Verif_Hire uses chrome.storage.local on your device to store the following, and only the following:
- Your work email address (used to register your free install)
- A count of how many free verifications you have used
- Your license key after activation
- A locally generated device identifier for license binding
- Cached license validation status for offline use
No candidate data is ever written to local storage.
License and billing data
When you purchase a Verif_Hire Pro subscription, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive your email address and subscription status from Stripe for the purpose of license key management. We do not receive or store credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment instrument data.
Server-side data
Our license management server (hosted on Cloudflare Workers) stores: your license key, associated email address, device identifier(s), subscription status, Stripe subscription ID, and usage data (work email, number of verifications used, registration date). This data is used for license validation, plan management, and anti-abuse enforcement.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Browsing history, cookies, or page content
- Candidate verification results or observations
- Screenshots, keystrokes, or clipboard data
- Personally identifiable information of candidates beyond the duration of a single API request
- Analytics, telemetry, or tracking data
How Verification Works
When you click "Verify," the extension sends the candidate's information to our server, which forwards it to an FCRA-compliant infrastructure data provider for real-time verification. The email domain is checked client-side against a known list of high-risk email providers. These requests are transient - data is processed in-flight and not persisted by our infrastructure. Results are rendered locally in the extension popup and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
Third-Party Data Sources
All verification data used by Verif_Hire is provided by FCRA-compliant sources. Verif_Hire packages and presents this data in a format designed for recruiting workflows, but does not originate, generate, or editorially alter the underlying data. Specifically:
- Infrastructure data provider - FCRA-compliant metadata lookup (data is not retained beyond request processing)
- Stripe - payment processing and subscription management
- Cloudflare - server infrastructure and license key storage
Data Retention
Candidate data submitted for verification is not stored after the API response is returned. No candidate names, phone numbers, email addresses, or verification results are ever written to a database or retained on our servers. License and subscription data is retained for the duration of an active subscription and deleted within 30 days of cancellation.
Your Rights
You may request deletion of your license and account data at any time by contacting us. If you uninstall the extension, all locally stored data (verification count, license key, device ID) is automatically removed by Chrome.
Children's Privacy
Verif_Hire is designed for professional use by recruiters and hiring teams. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 13 years of age.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing, accessing, or using Verif_Hire ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Verif_Hire is a Chrome browser extension that verifies candidate-provided contact information during the hiring process. The Service checks candidate phone numbers and email addresses against FCRA-compliant infrastructure data providers and known high-risk email domain lists, then presents the results to the user for independent review. The Service includes an optional resume upload feature that parses PDF and DOCX files locally in your browser to extract candidate contact details - no resume data is transmitted to or stored on our servers. A work email address is required to activate the free install. Verif_Hire is an informational verification tool and does not make hiring decisions on your behalf.
3. Nature of Service - Data Reseller
Verif_Hire is a reseller and presenter of third-party verification data. We do not originate, generate, or editorially alter the underlying data returned by our verification providers. Our role is to package data from FCRA-compliant infrastructure and identity data sources into a format that is useful for recruiting and hiring workflows. The accuracy, completeness, and currency of the underlying data is determined by the originating data providers, not by Verif_Hire.
4. Eligibility

Verif_Hire is not a Consumer Reporting Agency and does not provide consumer reports as defined under the FCRA. All underlying verification data is sourced from FCRA-compliant providers.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not warrant that verification results will be accurate, complete, or error-free. Verif_Hire is a supplementary informational tool and should not be the sole basis for any hiring or rejection decision.
9. Informational Use Only - No Liability for Hiring Decisions
All verification results, reports, observations, and other outputs provided by the Service are strictly informational and are intended to supplement - not replace - your own independent evaluation of any candidate. Verif_Hire does not make hiring, rejection, or any other employment decisions on your behalf. The decision to advance, reject, or take any action regarding a candidate remains solely and entirely with you and/or your organization. Verif_Hire, its operators, affiliates, and licensors expressly disclaim any and all liability for any hiring or employment decision made, in whole or in part, based on information provided by the Service.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verif_Hire and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to damages related to hiring decisions made using the Service. Important Disclosures
This page describes what Verif_Hire is, what it is not, how its outputs should be interpreted, and the rights available to candidates whose information is verified through the Service. We encourage every user to read this page in full before using Verif_Hire in any employment-related workflow.
What Verif_Hire Is
Verif_Hire is an information verification tool that checks whether the name, phone number, and email address a candidate provided are real, active, and consistent with legitimate contact infrastructure. It performs two discrete data lookups using FCRA-compliant data sources and displays the results to the user for independent review and human decision.
Verif_Hire is a reseller and presenter of third-party verification data. We do not originate, generate, or editorially alter the underlying data. Our role is to package data from FCRA-compliant infrastructure and identity data providers into a format that is useful for recruiting and hiring workflows. All verification data used by Verif_Hire is provided by FCRA-compliant sources.
Informational Outputs Only - Not a Recommendation
Verif_Hire's outputs do not constitute a recommendation, opinion, or judgment about any candidate's character, qualifications, or suitability for employment. The Service does not tell you to hire or not hire anyone. It does not score candidates. It does not rank candidates. It surfaces factual data points about the contact information provided and presents them to you for your own independent review.
The decision to advance, interview, hire, or reject any candidate remains solely and entirely with you and your organization. Verif_Hire expressly disclaims any role in that decision.
Verification of Candidate-Provided Information - Not a Background Check
Verif_Hire is fundamentally different from a background check or a pre-employment screening service. A background check digs into a person's history - criminal records, credit reports, past addresses, court filings - and surfaces new information that the candidate did not provide. Verif_Hire does none of that.
Verif_Hire verifies the information the candidate already gave you. When a candidate submits a phone number, an email address, and a name on their application, Verif_Hire checks whether those specific data points are real, consistent, and associated with legitimate contact infrastructure.
This is the difference between asking "Is this person who they say they are?" and asking "What else can I find out about this person?" Verif_Hire only answers the first question. It is a verification tool, not a screening or investigative service.
Permissible Use
Verif_Hire is designed and licensed exclusively for use in connection with employment verification and hiring due diligence. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- You are using Verif_Hire solely for the purpose of verifying candidate-provided contact information in connection with a bona fide employment decision.
- You will not use the Service to verify individuals for purposes unrelated to employment, including tenant screening, credit decisions, insurance underwriting, or personal investigations.
- You will apply the Service uniformly to all candidates for a given role and will not selectively verify candidates on the basis of race, gender, national origin, age, religion, disability, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
- You will not use a Verif_Hire output as the sole or primary basis for any adverse employment action.
- You will comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing employment verification, including providing candidates with appropriate notice and opportunity to respond before taking adverse action based in whole or in part on information obtained through this Service.
Why Verif_Hire Is Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) defines a Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) as an entity that assembles or evaluates "consumer credit information or other information on consumers" for the purpose of furnishing "consumer reports" to third parties. Verif_Hire does not meet this definition for the following reasons:
We do not assemble or maintain consumer files
When a user submits a phone number, a single real-time API request is made to an FCRA-compliant infrastructure data provider. The response is displayed in the user's browser and immediately discarded. Nothing is written to a database. Nothing is retained. Each verification is a stateless, ephemeral transaction.
We do not evaluate character, reputation, or personal characteristics
Verif_Hire checks narrow, objective facts - name/phone/email and associated digital attributes. These are factual attributes of a phone number and an email address - not attributes of a person. Verif_Hire makes no inference, assessment, or judgment about the individual behind the contact information.
We do not furnish reports for FCRA-enumerated purposes
Verif_Hire's outputs are not designed or intended to serve as a factor in establishing eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, or other enumerated purposes. They are informational data points about contact metadata, presented to the user to supplement their own independent evaluation. Our Terms of Service explicitly prohibit users from treating Verif_Hire outputs as a determining factor in employment decisions.
Our data comes from FCRA-compliant infrastructure sources
Phone and email data is derived from FCRA-compliant infrastructure records. This is metadata, not personal information about the consumer. Verif_Hire resells and presents this data - it does not originate or alter it.
In summary: Verif_Hire performs real-time, stateless lookups of contact-infrastructure metadata using FCRA-compliant data sources. It does not compile consumer files, does not evaluate personal characteristics, does not produce consumer reports, and does not furnish information for FCRA-enumerated purposes. For these reasons, Verif_Hire is not a Consumer Reporting Agency as defined under 15 U.S.C. § 1681a(f).
Verif_Hire Is Not an Automated Decision-Making Tool
Verif_Hire does not use artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive modeling, algorithmic scoring, or any form of automated decision-making. It does not assign scores, rank candidates, weight factors, predict outcomes, or recommend actions. It does not filter, sort, or remove candidates from any pipeline or workflow.
What Verif_Hire does is straightforward: it performs two discrete data lookups and displays the results.
- Phone number verification: The candidate's phone number is sent to an FCRA-compliant infrastructure data provider, which returns metadata attributes associated with the number. Verif_Hire displays this information to the user.
- Email domain verification: The domain portion of the candidate's email address is compared against a list of known high-risk and temporary email providers. If the domain appears on this list, Verif_Hire notes it.
If either lookup returns a result that deviates from what is typical of a standard consumer phone number or a standard personal/professional email address, Verif_Hire surfaces a factual observation and displays "Investigate further." No candidate is automatically rejected, deprioritized, or adversely affected. The tool has no connection to any applicant tracking system, hiring pipeline, or decision workflow. The human user reviews the data, applies their own judgment, and makes their own decision.
Zero Data Retention
Verif_Hire does not store candidate data after a verification completes. When you click "Verify," the extension sends the candidate's phone number to our server for a real-time lookup. The results are rendered locally in your browser. Once the popup closes, the data is gone. There is no database of past verifications. There is no candidate file to access, export, or breach.
In practice: Candidate data is processed in-flight and discarded immediately. No candidate names, phone numbers, email addresses, or verification results are ever written to a database or retained on our servers. The only data Verif_Hire stores is your license key and subscription status.
Candidate Rights
Verif_Hire is committed to transparency and fairness. Although we believe our Service falls outside the scope of the Fair Credit Reporting Act for the reasons described above, we voluntarily extend the following rights to any candidate whose contact information is verified through Verif_Hire:
Right to know
If an employer uses Verif_Hire as part of their hiring process, the candidate has the right to be informed that their contact information was verified. We strongly encourage all users of Verif_Hire to disclose to candidates that a contact-information verification was performed.
Right to see the results
Any candidate may request a copy of the data that was surfaced by Verif_Hire during their verification. Since Verif_Hire does not retain verification data, the candidate should direct this request to the employer who performed the verification. We encourage employers to share the Verif_Hire output with the candidate upon request.
Right to dispute
If a candidate believes that the information surfaced by Verif_Hire is inaccurate - for example, if an observation about their contact information appears to be in error - the candidate may submit a dispute. Verif_Hire will investigate the dispute by re-running the lookup and, if the original result was in error, will notify the employer and provide a corrected result.
Right to an explanation
If an employer takes adverse action against a candidate based in whole or in part on information obtained through Verif_Hire, the candidate has the right to receive an explanation of what information was flagged and why. We encourage employers to provide this explanation proactively as part of any adverse action process.
Right to be evaluated by a human
Verif_Hire does not make employment decisions. Every observation and result produced by the Service is intended to be reviewed and evaluated by a human decision-maker. Candidates have the right to know that no automated system made the employment decision affecting them.
Submit a Dispute
If you are a candidate and believe information about you was inaccurately reported through Verif_Hire, you may submit a dispute for investigation.
Submit a Dispute →How Verif_Hire Fits Into Your Existing Hiring Workflow
This guide is designed to help your legal, compliance, and procurement teams understand exactly where Verif_Hire sits in the hiring process, what it does, and - critically - what it does not do. You can share this page directly with stakeholders who need to evaluate the tool before approving it for use.
What Verif_Hire Does
Verif_Hire is a contact-information verification tool. When a candidate submits a job application with a name, phone number, and email address, Verif_Hire checks whether those specific data points are real and consistent.
What Verif_Hire Does Not Do
- It does not pull background checks, criminal records, credit reports, or employment history.
- It does not score, rank, or rate candidates.
- It does not use AI, machine learning, or predictive algorithms.
- It does not make hiring recommendations or decisions.
- It does not connect to your ATS, HRIS, or any other system in a way that could automatically reject or deprioritize a candidate.
- It does not store candidate data after the verification completes.
Where the Human Decision-Maker Sits
Verif_Hire is designed to be one input among many in a human-led evaluation process. Here is how it fits into a typical workflow:
Step 1 - Candidate applies. The candidate submits their application with contact information through your normal channels.
Step 2 - Recruiter runs Verif_Hire. A member of your hiring team opens the Verif_Hire browser extension and enters the candidate's name, phone number, and email. They click "Verify."
Step 3 - Verif_Hire returns results. The tool displays whether the phone and email check out, or whether there are flags. Every flag includes the factual reason and a prompt to "Investigate further."
Step 4 - The human decides. The recruiter or hiring manager reviews the Verif_Hire output alongside all other information they have about the candidate and makes their own independent decision.
Step 5 - If adverse action is taken. If your organization decides not to advance a candidate based in whole or in part on information surfaced by Verif_Hire, we strongly recommend following your existing adverse action procedures.
Data Handling - What to Tell Your Legal Team
- All verification data comes from FCRA-compliant sources. Verif_Hire is a reseller and presenter of third-party verification data.
- No candidate data is stored. Verif_Hire performs stateless, real-time lookups.
- No PII leaves the browser except for verification. The only data transmitted is the phone number and email domain (checked client-side against a known list).
- No consumer files are assembled. There is no profile, dossier, or file created for any candidate, ever.
- Resume parsing is entirely local. If a user uploads a resume, it is parsed in the browser. The file is never uploaded to or processed by our servers.
Regulatory Positioning
Verif_Hire is not a Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). It does not produce consumer reports. It does not evaluate character, reputation, or personal characteristics. It verifies contact-infrastructure metadata - not personal information about the individual.
Verif_Hire is also not an automated decision-making tool under any applicable regulation (including the EU AI Act, NYC Local Law 144, and Illinois AIPA). It uses no AI, no algorithms, no scoring, and no automation of employment decisions.
Recommended Best Practices
- Verify uniformly. If you use Verif_Hire for one candidate for a given role, use it for all candidates for that role.
- Never use a flag as the sole basis for rejection. A flagged observation may have a perfectly legitimate explanation.
- Document your process. Keep a brief record of how Verif_Hire fits into your hiring workflow.
- Disclose to candidates. We recommend informing candidates that contact-information verification is part of your process.
- Follow adverse action procedures. If you take adverse action based in part on a Verif_Hire flag, follow your existing adverse action process.
Questions About Compliance?
If your legal or compliance team has questions about how Verif_Hire fits into your hiring workflow, we're happy to help.
Contact Us →Frequently Asked Questions
This FAQ is written primarily for the legal, compliance, and procurement teams that evaluate Verif_Hire before it is approved for use.
General
Will this slow my recruiters down?
Most checks finish in under five seconds. The extension runs from the browser toolbar - there's nothing to integrate, nothing to install on a server, and no new tab to open.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. The app is free to install from the Chrome Web Store, no credit card required. You get unlimited verifications and full Pro features for the first 14 days, then your account rolls to the Free plan (1 verification per weekday). Upgrade any time.
Regulatory Classification
Is Verif_Hire a Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) under the FCRA?
No. Verif_Hire does not assemble or evaluate information bearing on a consumer's credit worthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living (15 U.S.C. § 1681a(d)(1)). Verif_Hire verifies infrastructure-level metadata, not personal information about the candidate. On that basis, Verif_Hire is not a CRA and its output is not a "consumer report."
Do we need to comply with the FCRA to use Verif_Hire?
Because Verif_Hire does not produce consumer reports, the FCRA's disclosure, authorization, and adverse-action provisions for consumer reports do not apply to the tool's output. That said, if your organization treats any third-party input as FCRA-adjacent as a matter of internal policy, Verif_Hire integrates cleanly into an existing FCRA-compliant workflow. We recommend confirming the classification with your own counsel.
Does Verif_Hire produce investigative consumer reports?
No. Investigative consumer reports, under FCRA § 1681a(e), include information gathered through personal interviews with neighbors, friends, associates, or acquaintances. Verif_Hire conducts no interviews and collects no personal information about the candidate from any source.
Is Verif_Hire an "Automated Employment Decision Tool" (AEDT) under NYC Local Law 144?
No. LL 144 regulates tools that substantially assist or replace discretionary employment decision-making through machine learning, statistical modeling, data analytics, or artificial intelligence. Verif_Hire performs deterministic metadata lookups and string matching against a public list of high-risk email domains. It does not score, rank, or predict anything about the candidate, and therefore does not meet the LL 144 definition of an AEDT.
Is Verif_Hire a signals intelligence tool or a decision-making tool?
Verif_Hire is purely a signals intelligence tool. It aggregates deterministic, factual observations from FCRA-compliant infrastructure data sources and presents them to the user. It uses no AI, no machine learning, no predictive models, no scoring algorithms, and no decision-making logic of any kind. It does not rank candidates, filter candidates, recommend candidates, or take any action on behalf of the user. Every hiring decision - including whether to advance, interview, reject, or further investigate a candidate - remains with the human decision-maker.
Does Verif_Hire fall under the Illinois AI Video Interview Act or similar state AI-in-hiring laws?
No. Verif_Hire does not process video, audio, interview content, or any candidate-created media. It verifies whether a phone number and email address are real and reachable.
Is Verif_Hire regulated under the EU AI Act?
The EU AI Act regulates AI systems. Verif_Hire is not an AI system under Article 3(1) of the Act because it does not infer, predict, recommend, or generate outputs using machine-based techniques. Its outputs are deterministic verifications of provided metadata.
Hiring Decisions & Adverse Action
Can a Verif_Hire result be used as the sole basis for rejecting a candidate?
We strongly recommend against that, and Verif_Hire is not designed to support it. Treat Verif_Hire output as one data point that may warrant a conversation with the candidate, not a standalone verdict.
If we decide not to advance a candidate based on Verif_Hire, does FCRA adverse action apply?
FCRA's statutory adverse-action requirements attach to consumer reports. Because Verif_Hire does not produce consumer reports, the FCRA steps are not triggered as a matter of law. As a best practice, however, we recommend following your existing adverse-action procedure regardless.
Does Verif_Hire replace a background check?
No. Verif_Hire does not pull criminal records, credit history, employment history, education verification, or reference checks. It is a narrow identity verification tool that sits upstream of any traditional background check.
Data Collection & Privacy
What candidate data does Verif_Hire process?
Verif_Hire processes the candidate's name, phone number, and email address in-flight to perform its checks. The phone number is sent to our server, which proxies the request to an FCRA-compliant infrastructure data provider for verification. The email domain is compared to a list of known high-risk email providers client-side on the user's device. The candidate's name is not transmitted to any third party.
Is any candidate data stored on Verif_Hire servers?
No. Every verification is stateless. Phone and email lookups are processed in-flight and discarded. Verification results are rendered in the user's browser extension and never written to our database. No candidate profile, dossier, or file is ever created.
Are resumes uploaded to Verif_Hire's servers?
No. The optional resume upload feature parses PDF and DOCX files entirely in the user's browser using local JavaScript libraries. The resume file never leaves the user's device.
Do you share or sell candidate data?
No. Verif_Hire does not sell candidate data and does not share it beyond the single technical lookup to the infrastructure data provider, which uses it strictly to return the verification result and does not retain it beyond request processing.
Do you use candidate data to train machine learning models?
No. Verif_Hire uses no machine learning, and candidate data is not retained to train anything.
Who are your subprocessors?
- Infrastructure data provider - FCRA-compliant metadata verification.
- Identity graph provider - identity cross-reference verification.
- Cloudflare Workers - stateless edge compute for proxying the verification request and managing license keys.
- Resend - transactional email delivery for license keys sent to the hiring user (not the candidate).
- Stripe - payment processing for the hiring user's subscription.
Candidate PII flows only through our infrastructure data provider and identity graph provider, and transiently through Cloudflare Workers (proxying). It does not flow through Resend or Stripe.
Where is Verif_Hire's infrastructure hosted?
On Cloudflare's global edge network. Because we are stateless, there is no persistent database of candidate information in any region.
Data Privacy Regulations
Does Verif_Hire comply with CCPA/CPRA?
Verif_Hire does not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under CCPA. Candidate data is processed transiently to fulfill the verification request initiated by the hiring organization. The hiring organization remains the business responsible for providing applicable CCPA notices to its candidates.
What about GDPR?
For candidates in the EU/UK, the hiring organization is the data controller and Verif_Hire acts as a data processor for the brief moment of the verification request. Verif_Hire retains no candidate data, so there are no ongoing GDPR storage-limitation obligations on our side. We can sign a standard Data Processing Addendum on request.
Can a candidate request deletion of their data?
Because Verif_Hire does not retain candidate data, there is no stored personal information to delete. Verification outputs exist only in the user's browser extension view and are not saved to our servers.
Do you comply with state biometric privacy laws (BIPA, Texas CUBI, Washington)?
Verif_Hire does not collect, process, or store any biometric data.
EEOC, Bias, and Fair Employment
Does Verif_Hire create disparate impact risk?
Verif_Hire evaluates contact-infrastructure metadata. These attributes are not protected characteristics under federal, state, or local employment law. We are not aware of any data indicating that the metadata attributes checked by Verif_Hire correlate with a protected class. That said, we recommend you use Verif_Hire uniformly across candidates for a given role and never treat a flag as determinative.
Is Verif_Hire EEOC-compliant?
Verif_Hire itself does not evaluate protected characteristics. Compliance with EEOC guidance is a function of your overall hiring process.
Audit Trail & Documentation
Do verifications generate an audit trail?
Yes. Every verification produces a unique report ID in the format VH-XXXXXX. Your recruiters can record this ID alongside the candidate file for internal documentation. The report ID links to the observations surfaced at the time of the check.
Can our legal team review Verif_Hire's methodology?
Yes. The Compliance Guide documents data sources, the three result tiers (All Information Verified, Review Recommended, Likely Fraudulent), and the recommended workflow. We're happy to walk your team through specifics over email or a call.
Procurement & Contracting
Can Verif_Hire sign a Data Processing Agreement (DPA)?
Yes. Email admin@verif-hire.com and we'll provide our standard DPA or review yours.
Do you have a SOC 2 report or ISO 27001 certification?
Not at this time. Our architecture is designed to minimize the attack surface by holding no candidate data. We are happy to complete a security questionnaire and can speak to our security posture on request.
Do you sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA)?
No. Verif_Hire is not designed to process Protected Health Information and does not sign BAAs. The data in scope is name, phone, and email - none of which constitutes PHI.
Who is responsible for ensuring our use of Verif_Hire complies with applicable laws?
The hiring organization is responsible for ensuring its hiring workflow - including any verification tooling - complies with applicable federal, state, and local law. Verif_Hire is a tool, not legal advice. We recommend having your legal team review our Compliance Guide before rolling out the extension to hiring teams.
